I just took the seat completely off, Slid the tank back, got the plug wrench and socket with extension and removed the old sparkplug. Gapped the new spark plug and then put some engine oil on the new spark plug threads, placed the new plug on the spark plug socket placed the socket with plug attached in the cylinder hole and hand tightened until the new plug was threaded into the spark plug hole....the plug was then turned an additional 1/4 turn to compress the gasket that seals the spark plug. The spark plug wire was re-attached and the tank re-secured to the motorcycle and the seat replaced..(Very simple and the tank did not have to be completely removed.
As a precaution I held the loosened gas tank with a bunje cord so it would not drop off to the side and get dented....
